Your placenta is perfectly made for you, by you!
Pregnancy and childbirth are unbelievably taxing to a birthing person’s system, and scientific research has shown that the placenta is rich in the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that your body needs to recover. Throughout history and around the world the placenta has been used by women after birth. The purpose of placenta encapsulation is to reintroduce the beneficial vitamins, minerals, hormones, proteins, and other nutrients back into your body following labor and birth.
Blissful Midwifery believes that placental encapsulation is a vital part of postpartum recovery. Encapsulation ensures preservation, allowing the placenta to be utilized while your postpartum hormones gradually regulate themselves. It is the most noninvasive form of consuming your placenta, so it's usually the most accepted as it comes in easy-to-take capsules. Encapsulation involves dehydrating the raw placenta. The dried placenta is then made into a powder and filled into vegetable capsules.
Blissful Midwifery's placental encapsulation fee is included for all midwifery clients and offered at a discounted rate for doula clients. For those just seeking placental encapsulation, the fee is $300, with a $50 travel fee outside the Madison area. Our encapsulation services include transporting, preparation, encapsulation and instructions for use.
Women are innately proficient at giving birth, have a profound, intuitive instinct and when supported and permitted to find comfort, can give birth without interventions at home.
